LungSong emerged through choreographic research alongside scientists at the National Institute of Weather and Atmospheric Science in Lauder, New Zealand. It resulted in a screen dance work and a 60 minute performance. Calling attention to life at all scales, LungSong is a call to action. In contemplating an apocalypse of the skies, from one of the places in the world with the cleanest air, this performance cosmology, became a meeting place for artists and scientists to engage in research to the ‘forgetting of air’ (Irigaray 1999).
